BoomBox (Ukrainian: Бумбокс) is a Ukrainian hip-hop and rock band founded in 2004 in Kyiv by vocalist Andriy Khlyvnyuk and guitarist Andriy Samoilo. The band’s music fuses elements of hip-hop, funk, reggae, and pop, with lyrics predominantly in Ukrainian that address themes of everyday life and personal experiences.

The group released its debut album, Меломанія (Melomania), in 2005, which quickly gained traction on Ukrainian radio stations and established their domestic fanbase. Subsequent albums such as Family бізнес (2006), III (2008), and Середній Вiк (Middle Age, 2011) expanded their sound and popularity, leading to performances in over 180 cities across 28 countries. BoomBox has become one of Ukraine’s prominent musical acts, known for energetic live shows and evolving discography spanning at least seven studio albums.
A defining moment came in 2022 when Khlyvnyuk, amid Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, enlisted in the territorial defense forces, suspending band activities and highlighting the members’ ties to national resilience. His vocals also featured on Pink Floyd’s protest single “Hey Hey Rise Up,” amplifying the band’s international visibility during the conflict.
